North Warning System, Arctic Coast, Alaska
Meridian staff provided construction management services on the North Warning System Unattended Radar Project. This 3 1/2 year, $47 million project involved constructing remote facilities and radar towers at three locations along Alaskas Arctic Coast.
These three unattended radar sites were part of the joint United States and Canadian North Warning System.
The systems employed state-of-the-art computer systems to control radar, satellite communications, power generation, fire suppression, and intrusion detection systems.
Our team was responsible for on-site construction management, structural steel and module fabrication procurement contracts, and management of materials procurement, sealift coordination, airlift coordination, and management of the radar installation.
