St. Andrews Catholic Church
Meridian provided full-service project management services for the owner throughout design, construction and occupancy of the new St. Andrew Catholic Church in Eagle River. This $11 million (construction cost) project is the largest Catholic church in Alaska.
Because the parish hired Meridian as the first step in their project, we first worked with the parish's building committee to establish a formal RFP process for selection of the architecture firm, general contractor, as well as the required liturgical consultant. The delivery method utilized was design-assist where the contractor participated in scoping and estimating the work before the design was completed.
As a church does not operate on a typical 40 hour per week, Monday through Friday schedule, Meridian provided a dedicated project manager that worked with the parish accommodating their schedule as well as coordinating the efforts of building committee, liturgical consultant and the large number of specialty contractors to design and construct (often custom) liturgical furnishings including the baptismal font, pews, altar, ambo, corpus, stations of the cross and stained glass windows.
